Time and time again I have seen other members post and I have posted buying and selling transactions that have not been completed.
I had in the past requested that a Sticky be made to post this information in order that others may see who or what they are dealing with. And yes, it would be great if it was indexed and searched by the major search engines in order that their P.O.S. name would appear everywhere.
Fortunately, I do not rely on domains as a living. But this is timeconsuming and a massive waste of time and effort.
Between non payment from Sedo, Afternic, and private contracts not being completed, for 2007 I am now in the $20,000 USD range for non payment. While this may be small change to some and large numbers to others, it is what it is...deadbeats.
For 2007, I am at an even 50% from Sedo for successful completion and payment. Their buyer certification is a joke:
In the continued effort to maintain a successful and secure marketplace, we ask that all buyers certify their accounts before making an offer. This improved protection benefits all members of the Sedo marketplace and shortens the transaction process.
Please note: Sedoâs Buyer Certification program does not guarantee that a buyer will perform their obligations when agreeing to purchase a domain name.
Has anyone from Sedo explained what exactly they are certifying? I can not get an answer from them.
In regards to Afternic, not one offer accepted or sale has been completed. So I guess you could say that I am at a negative 100% in that market.
I have seen Mods and members equally post their frustration over this issue, from a buyer and a sellers point of view.
I think we need a section and a sticky devoted solely to the purpose of exposing deadbeat buyers, deadbeat sellers, buyers selling domains they do not legally own, and now apparently theft of domains.
