Hey,
I'm new to the game but it sounds like something i'll enjoy. I have a few questions, for anyone that would be kind enough to give me some pointers. First of all, I've seen several different domains directories on the internet all advertising deleted and on hold domain names. What i'm wondering is, are the TLD zone files given out by internic the only way to gather this sort of information? What about dailychanges.com, where they list registrations, imports, deletions, and other things by registrar? Is this just deep analysis of the zone files? Which of these companies have you found to be reliable and useful?
Next, I'm wondering what the best way to go about this is. Would it be easier to get started by grabbing smaller domains with enough traffic to justify the registration fees, but not the snap, or would it better to start looking for resellable domain names right off and try to place a snap early? I tend to enjoy the latter more, since it's something I don't have to wait for, but i'm looking for an honest opinion.
Finally, by what means do you measure the prospective traffic of a domain name? Just alexa and incoming links?
I would really appreciate any feedback you all can give me!
Regards,
Joe
