I just clicked the link and saw that the reserve had not been met on the ebay auction. I think the last bid was around $2,900.
I also read on DNJournal that Detroit.info just sold for 10K Sept 5, 2006 at DNForum. It was tied with several others and is #76 in the YTD sales chart.
Maybe the owner was hoping for a quick turn around. I live and work in the Detroit area so I'm familar with the latest. The economy is in the dumper because of the Big Three car makers problems, but there is a lot of building going on and some of the slums are being torn down and rebuilt with lofts and condos.
MGM is building a huge new casino to replace their "temporary" several hundred million dollar casino. Two other casinos are also being built and/or modified, Greektown and Motor City Casino both are spending big money.
It's still a dumpy town but they are making progress. Seems like it would still be a good domain to own. Somebody is spending a lot of money in those casinos.
