Thank you for the offer. I was hoping for a $xx,xxx range. I believe we paid $7,000 for it so at the very least we need to recover our costs. But we know the domain is worth a lot more as we got offers over $10k. Wanted to see if someone here can find a good home for it. If not, we'll stay the course to develop it one day.

GoDaddy reports about 350 unique impressions per month.

Maybe. I know it was on GoDaddy.com for sale and we bought it from the person who won it. If you want the specific number I can ask and find out.

Ok I checked. I have the paypal receipt in front of my eyes. $5900. It was bought for $2015 (not $2010 by the entity who got it from GoDaddy.) So your numbers are off.

WHOIS shows that ownership has not changed since 12/11/2007 that it was sold at TDNAM. Are you not Mr. Tenenbaum?

why would you discuss/disclose what you paid for a domain in a sales thread?

I am asking because he claims he "needs to recoup costs of $7k". I am a fan of accurate statements. Namebio.com shows a sales price of $2,010.
I'm not suggesting it's not worth the asking price, just that public records show what the selling price was.

My name is Ed, I work for PNC and IMI. I have the paypal reciept if you'd like to see it. Let me know to which email and I'll email it to you. Namebio.com does not have it correct. I just checked them and they don't seem to have many of our domains at the right price. Not sure where they pull their numbers from.

All the domains I'm listing here belong to either PNC or IMI and some I own personally. Every domain I list is available for sale. You can email me at either [email protected] or [email protected]. Mr. Tenenbaum owns part of PNC. You can email him at [email protected]

only the person who's name is on the whois information should be offering the domain for sale.

if you a brokering for this person or company, then it should be done in Brokerage Section, with your relationship to the seller stated.

Thanks

I agree. Sorry about that. This domain is not owned by Tenenbaum. I will update this right away. Thank you for pointing it out! Ed.

To all in the post. The whois has been updated to the correct info. Please allow a few hours for it to be updated. I apologize for that.

First of all your question is totally legit. The way I view domain values is not by how much they cost, but by how much they save.

dmz happens to be a very desired term. Just google dmz very wpy for example and I think you'll get your answer. Three letters or not is not the question. It's what the three letters stand for.

If you are an organization that would like to build a web site about dmz technology, and I don't want to go into too many details but there are many ideas on the subject, and your choices were thedmzgroup.org or dmg.org, then dmz.org can probably cut your marketing budget by 1/10 as brand recognition and ease of message delivery would be significantly easier and cheaper.

For an organization like that, dmz.org is worth gold, while for someone who trades domains back and froth it maybe worthless. One's person trash is another person's fortune.

I'll conclude with the fact that all the domains we ever purchased were ones that we saw as a potential business, and I can go to many examples. We had planned and still may one day develop a project around a dmz technology. If we still own the domain it will be valid. If we don't, there is no chance we will do it. So yes, the domain is very valuable, very high commodity term, and can be a make or break for anyone interested in developing a business around the dmz concept.

Thanks for your questions!
Ed
