Hello,

**************************************
SORRY, THERE HAS BEEN A MIXUP ON MY SIDE.

This thread is NOT about DNbazaar.com as originally posted
but about DOTBazaar.com

VERY sorry for the mixup!
*************************************

Please let me know your thoughts and appraisals on

DOTbazaar.com

This should, of course become a market place where domains could be listed for free, haggling between buyer and seller is supported and which will also do the escrow service when the sale is done. 2% share of sales-price and advertizements will be the income sources.

Good name? Good idea? Any comments?

Thanks a lot!

Rough waters concept. Critical mass is key, and there are many in line in front of you... including dnforum (not to mention Afternic). I think its really a "first come" type of deal.

I participated in a long discussion regarding "DN" as a prefix abbreviation for "domain name" on the DomainState.com forum ( DN vs. DOMAIN - .COM ). I personally think DN is the lesser of the two, and feel that it generally means very little to most people.

DNBAZAAR is even more disadvantaged by having an awkward name attached to it (unlike "-forum" or even "-journal"). I don't really have a value for it. Sorry.

Thanks delete. I'll think about it. With the domain market not being the same as a few years ago, and quite a few domain markets out there, it's questionable if a new one would stand a chance.

But thanks for your input.

good memorable name

develop it and visitors will come back again and again

dn is became very well recognized especially by domain owners and dnforum.com added much value to this abbreviation

good luck

Its a TM infringement, I agree with Gota about the "DN" prefix however the Bazaar was clearly ripped from afternic...its their brand....

wvspecialkvw , thanks for the thought. But I am highly doubtful that they would succeed in defending that domain. Bazaar is a generic word, which just means marketplace or oriental marketplace. And generic words are almost impossible to defend as trademarks.

And the distinguishing part of their trademark is the word "Afternic", not Bazaar. It's like saying "Walmart store", where "store" would not be protected as a trademark either.

In any case, I think that would be a risk I'd be willing to take.

But thank you for pointing it out to me wvspecialkvw!
