I am not sure if anyone else notices this, but DNF is always crawling. Is DNF set up on load balancing servers?

I think DNF may want to invest a litttle $$ to improve its quality of service. I can't see how people browse at the times the site moves slow.

I am on an OC3 connection so I know it isn't my connection.

Laggy Lag lag lag....fast load..lag lag lag timeout lag timeout..Now I know im not the only one!

Seems to load fast everytime for me too.

Images load slow for me, which causes slow page loads. I'm used to it now. It's not super slow, but it seems it could be optimized.

its not outrageously fast, but its not slow enough for me to be annoyed by it, theres alot of content on most pages so wait the extra 2 seconds lol

2 seconds lol yeh times 5

yeah. There are sometimes slow periods. Especially when moving from P.M's...

Yes agreed Very slow and 1 am on a 100Mbit Fiber drop. Everything else on the net is superfast. SP2 Network installer 260 something Mb took 2 minutes and this site sometimes just timeouts.

Timeout occasionally happens to me when I use quick reply feature.

I guess I am lucky. I am on DSL and it seems fine most of the time, I do see lag but not to the point where it fustrates me. I've never had a timeout. Knock on wood.

For me, the speed of the home page loading, depends on if I have previousy clicked on the down or up arrows under "What's Going On?"
It definitely takes longer to load the 1000 plus names under who has been on the last 24 hours

Other than that DNF loads fine on cable, down under, using firefox

It takes me 10-15 seconds on a good day to load a page, Then the quick reply form takes another 10-15 seconds - Im on a 2MB connection... Something needs to be done about this.

Hey Guys,

Im using cable and cannot find it to be as slow as some of you are suggesting. Im using cable from home and it seems fine.

We will discuss with our dedicated hosting providers to see if there is an issue, but I can assure you the servers we are running are one of the most enhanced ones around as well as CPU usage seems very minimal.

Its dedicated to its own server so we are not running anything else with it.

However, as it seems more than a few are affected, its something we will look into.

Thanks for the posts.

Huseyin,

From my browsing experience both here and elsewhere (some really large forums), DNForum is not very slow, but could well be significantly faster. ;)

Do you guys have gzip enabled? Also consider using eaccelerator. It's a great php accelerator that really works well. It brought load down tremendously on my servers.

Site always seems to load quick for me on cable. No complaints at all.

the site is slow... i've tried fiber at work / DSL at home even HSDPA whilst on the move and it is REAL slow - other forums are slow too but sometimes it's just a pain....

i don't think gzip would solve this as the server would explode if it's as slow as it is now :)
