My biggest problem with this:

- I'm negotiating with an end-user on a domain I own or am auctioning it off
- Someone decides to appraise it, a whole bunch of reseller opinions pop-up
- End user/bidder types in mydomain.com into a search engine to find the appraisal thread with suggested reseller pricing and hesitates to bid more, although he otherwise would have
- I can potentially lose out on a lot of $$$

So when you post a domain for sale...i am going to post it in the appraisal section to see what everyone else thinks before i make my bid.

Sounds like a great idea.
Great response, satirical, but very accurate.

Ok, forget the idea, we will leave as is, that's why I wanted opinions.

Thanks,

I think it would be a terrible idea. Imagine all the newbies asking for appraisals on domains they don't own. Then approaching the owners telling them what they think their domain is worth.

I post so few domains for sale here it makes little if any difference to me. FYI, I am not a reseller.

I think you are missing the big picture. I am not a reseller either.

So i definitely wouldn't want people appraising MY domains.

Posting and judging other peoples domains without consent and having those names appear in the search engines? Sounds like an invitation for trouble if you ask me.

Awful idea... glad you're going to keep it as is.

Adam, your decision to let the rule stand is very sound. As you say we ask our peers in private for opinions.
