Check out premiumdomains.com or via the banners at the top of most pages, and make you own mind up if you believe it's valid.

Hell, no. It's all fluff. No one cares. Appraisals are worthless and always have been. The bottom line is getting the maximum price the market (your buyer) will bear from an end-user who isn't a domain reseller.

Sheesh Ed. As long as you've been around, I would think you would know the true value of a name being PDCed. When you find out please explain it to me. ;)

it's mostly either newbie's who fell for the service or domainers who are trying to "pump-up" their ads.

Ed30,

This is only a requirement if you want to put your domain for sale at PremiumDomains.com

Otherwise you can certify your domain simply to know what is your domain score. It's free.

As written in the site:

Domain scores are based on the following metrics:
- Readability
- Term frequency
- Search popularity

Even if these are the main metrics for domain valuation others must also be considered for a full appraisal.
So don't base domain value only on the domain score but also get the advice of domain experts.

If the score is above a certain level, you can get a free tattoo of the domain on your bicep (sorry, no IDNSs)

The domain business is funny and unique business. There is no such thing (my 2 cents) is 'certify' or 'appraisal'.

The price is established when the buyer agrees to pay.

I've just seen a rubbish name for sale here that I let drop 2 months ago - no traffic, don't know why I registered it in the first place, not worth throwing another $7 at - with one of these Premium Domain certificate things attached.
I rest my case.
