Do NOT invest in .TC, .VG, .MS, .GS, .TF domains

Don't be overexcited if you find excellent name available in these extensions:
.TC: the Turks and Caicos islands,
.VG: the British Virgin islands,
.MS: Montserrat,
.GS: South Georgia and the South Sandwich islands,
.TF: French Southern Territories.

The registrar is Adamsnames.tc. They do not allow you to use the domains for porn, gamble, gay,... content. Please read the so-called terms (very vague) at:
http://www.adamsnames.tc/register/terms.txt

purpose, or for any purpose likely to bring the name of
the Company into disrepute."

It sounds like typical shyster speak for "If you get us a lot of bad publicity we'll get rid of you". They have the option - not necessarily that they will.

Yes, I know.

At first I was surprised that many 2-character domains are still available, so I registered 18.vg (VG = Virtual Girl).

Later I heard that they banned sex.vg and took away the domain due to the adult content. Someone told me that those people were biased.

I accused register.com of not informing me about the terms and conditions during the registration of .VG domain. Fortunately, I was able to cancel the registration and got the refund.

If you use the extension for something politically correct, it is not bad (e.g. VG = Virtual Guide). But I doubt how many users can remember the URL.

I agree. It doesn't seem to say anything of what you've concluded, save that much is left to "The Company's" discretion. This is very similar (however more frank) to other registrars.

That said, I don't think I'd buy one of those extensions anyway.
