Being I'm so used to seeing Japanese everday.
I know for most people on DNF a huge turnoff for domains is the hyphen....

I realized a lot of my best domains are in katakana which has a character that elongates the sound for foreign words.

Example
テレビゲーム.com - TV Games.com
パソコンゲーム.com - PC Games.com
セール.com - Sale.com

Then it hit me when I was looking at my domain Sale.com today
Some domainers on here may think this is a hyphen.
2 characters & a hyphen in the middle.

Anyone ever thought this?
I just wanted to confirm this is not a hyphen.
it's actually a Japanese character Sale is written this way in Japanese se-ru セール

I think when these dropped that's the reason why no one picked them up last year. I kept thinking there is no chance that Sale is going to free but now I think I figured out why...

Yep, I can confirm this: "ー" is not the hyphen ("-") character. No Japanese will be confused by the difference. "セ-ル" (with a hyphen) would be totally worthless from both a resale and a typein perspective, but with the Japanese "vowel extender mark" it has a lot of value.

For more on the Katakana character set, this Wikipedia entry is required reading...
