Froogle is a new service from Google that makes it easy to find information about products for sale online. By focusing entirely on product search, Froogle applies the power of Google's search technology to a very specific task: locating stores that sell the item you want to find and pointing you directly to the place where you can make a purchase.
****************************************************
They state listings are free. Evidently they return results based on the relevance of that 'keyword' typed in, against your sites content/keywords used on your pages for that 'specific product'.
I'de think then, a site that sold multiple products, whould rec' multiple listings for each of their 'core products' ???
If anyone's submitted to froogle, feedback please!
Google crawls billions of webpages every month, so you'll likely be included automatically in Froogle's index of sites. If for some reason your store is not showing up and you would like it to be included in Froogle, please submit a data feed. Doing so will ensure that your entire product catalog is included in Froogle, and it will also allow you to control the freshness and accuracy of your product information. Feeds can be updated as you add new products, change prices, offer special promotions, or discontinue products.
NOTE:
This beta release of Froogle only supports U.S. online stores with English-language websites and products priced in U.S. dollars. While we plan to offer support for multiple languages and currencies in the future, we want to be sure Froogle offers the best possible experience to users and merchants before we expand the service. We will not be accepting feeds from international merchants until that time.
( i did a search for Cole Haan shoes ) The big boys are right up there.. then did a search for 'white diamonds'.. seeking info on a fragrance.. and WallyWorld.. is right up there too..) Foogle may be well for the consumer, but for affiliate reseller's it'll be a tough.
