This might be a very silly question, but being fairly new to domaining, this question is stuck in my mind...
Its like this.. When i go searching for good domain names, i primarily get confused in one thing.. whether to get a .com with a lesser name value OR go for a 1 word dictionary domain name with an obscure extension like probably .tc or .bz???

For example if i see:

GoodBids.com and Accounts.tc which one should one be going for and why? I mean how does one evaluate the worth looking at both the extension and the name and thus comparing them for value... what are the parameters when comparing a good name to a .com??

Thanks!
Rohan.

Unless it is a very popular generic term, i.e. poker, cars, sex....I would go for the .com as opposed to the obscure extension.

Thanks JazzPetals.
So in the above example which one would you get?? lets talk about some examples:

GoodBids.com or Accounts.tc
BidNow.biz or Service.vg
Showing.com or Poker.tc
Thinkers.com or Sex.tc
HomeFinance.com or Sales.biz

Above are just examples and i would really be stuck with those while deciding.

Thanks for your ideas.
Rohan.

any domain extention is good as long as 90% of your expected traffic is coming from search engines and not returning users. Only stick with .com and .net or .co.uk for returning users.

I dont know who these fools are who buy these poker.tc extentions from sedo etc. there is no use in them and no honest business with integrity would consider using such odd extentions as a main business domain extention.
