Hi
I once considered myself a serial entrepreneur. If I had an idea, I would go after it full pelt, and in most cases being a software engineer, his led to me buying domain names.
At one point I owned 50+ but now I have let quite a few lapse/not renew with the registrar. Originally I fully intended to stand up a proof of concept in the least for each domain and in some cases myself and a small team were able to stand up more than that (health data app that during Covid had millions of social media impressions based on the content - some pics attached)
As time has gone on I have come to realize there is only so much you can take on, especially if there is only a few of you working towards building apps to go with those ideas. Now with the advent of AI giving the possibility to stand up POC's quicker than ever, I wonder if my ambitions were too early and now is the time to try again?
My one concern is with the creation of anything, it need maintenance over time, and I'm not sure AI can do this well.
Also, a huge question in my mind, and the main reason I'm posting this thread, is even though we stood up a few apps and got hits on the websites, we never monetized and I now think reselling the domains could be better financially that standing up POC's and monetizing in other ways? I could never get my head around the actual value of embedding adverts for example
Interested to hear others experiences ....
I have 20 domains left - pretty sure I'll be selling most of them
