Some people get confused how many Name server they can use for a single domain name?

The ans is: you can use multiple NS at the same time but keep the NS top which will resolve your landing page.

I've only seen the ability to set 4 nameservers for domains, but I've only ever used 2 unless a host recommended all 4.

A fun thing that you can do is register your own/create custom nameservers. It looks like Epik makes this the easiest as you merely go to set nameservers and then use the 2nd option to "custom name servers" from the top.

Set vanity nameservers in Epik domain management

Plug in the IP address of your host next to ns1/ns2, save, and you should be good to go with your own vanity domain nameservers.

I haven't used GoDaddy in some time, but for being so user friendly, registering vanity nameservers wasn't an area they shined in. Their newer acquisition, Uniregistry, made it a little easier. But, I haven't seen as easy or intuitive creation until switching to Epik.

Hi

yes, a domain can have different nameservers,
and at times, i have used 4 different NS for the same domain names.

knowing how to change nameservers is part of the fundamentals of domaining.
since majority of us use landers or ppc pages, then it is imperative that you learn how.
each respective registrar should have a faq page, with instructions.

imo...
