You could counter with $999999999 if you wanted to. The way I read the FAQ, a counter is not limited to 10,000

seeker is right, the cancel negotiations button is confusing to an otherwise great system

no matter what you enter domain, it is binding for 7 days. By the definition, even if he doesnt buy it, and in the case for high value domains that have been appraised especially, you know if you get a 100 offer, it is low balling and non serious, you can not negotiate for 7 days with someone else since you are bound.
You are loosing a potential buyer this way.

I think you can negotiate with as many buyers you want.
I have 1 domain and negotiate with two buyers at the moment.

you counter offer $800 on both.
They both accept. (once they accept, the transaction enters the next phase)

What happens?
you are 'binded' per agreement. But to whom of the 2????
The system has a serious flaw. VERY serious.
The cancel negotiation button must be fixed.

I am not sure but I think that when the first buyer accepts then the other bid thread is closed.
Cancel button works for me fine.

you must be the only one I know of that it works.
Are you using a different browser (not IE or NS or mozilla)??

the whole thread started because everyone here (on the thread), and myself, apparently cant make the cancel button work without it saying enter an offer first. And even if you do, it still doesnt work.

If you don't enter an offer it doesn't work.

I just enter a 10k offer for a 3k domain and then I cancel.

i understand what you're saying about the flaw,
but in this situation i would counter to each with 9,999 and in the comments section tell them there are 2 interested parties... so the one with the highest counter offer by x/x/xx will win the domain!

this could look like a ploy on your end, but if they are really interested they will counter.

Another thing to take into account is that if you make a counter offer it *may* be used against you in a wipo or other domain dispute process. I have had people claim I made bad-faith registration because, by making a counter offer, I was trying to get money out of them. I would have liked to see a cancel option *without* making a counter offer.
