Atlach,

Thanks for your interest in Domain-Retriever.

The following lists are provided with every DR purchase:

- Daily Expired Domain Names (Updated every 10 minutes)
- Off on-hold Status Domain Names (Updated every 10 minutes)

- Soon To Expire Domain Names 3 Days (Updated every 1 hour)
- Soon To Expire Domain Names 24 Hours (Updated every 1 hour)

- New On-Hold Domain Names (Updated ever 1 hour)
- On-Hold Database (Updated every 24 hours)

The first two lists are updated once every 10 minutes, Exody
updates them LIVE, so there might be delay of up to 10 minutes.

The rest of the lists are updated hourly, same as Exody.

We strongly encourage ALL of our customers to subscribe to
Exody as well. Doing that will allow you to access Exody's
domain archives as well as their huge database of ALL
expired domain names which you can use on DR.

Exody's lists are definitely worth the $35/month fee if
you're a serious domain speculator and if you want
access to archived domain data.

Thanks,
Luc L.

Hi Luc

A few questions:

The Alexa portion of DR is not opearating properly. A majority the values show as (1) digit instead of the full alexa rating??

Also, many of the names i would consider going after in the 3 days to expiration list have already been picked up, why is that??

Thanks

PS- I am using a fresh copy of DR just downloaded.

Daniel,

Thanks for the bug report.

Alexa hates when people send automated queries to their
engine, so they keep on changing the format in which the
results are displayed. The surfer can't tell the difference,
but a program that's extracting the results from the HTML
source gets confused.

I will update this and have a fixed version available tomorrow
morning (Christmas day).

As far as the soon to expire in 3 days lists, I'm not exactly
sure what's going on with that. Are you saying that the names
in the soon to expire lists have been newly registered or
renewed? A portion of the good names will be renewed
by the previous owner, other's should become available
shortly.

Please keep in mind that the Exody Soon to Expire in 3 Days lists
are not EXACT lists, since it's impossible to predict exactly when
a name will become available for registration. They are
approximations and like I said before, a portion of the names
will be renewed.

Thank You,
Luc L.

Thanks Luc, even working on Christmas thats support!
I will look for the new version tomorrow and download.

Luc - In reviewing the 3 days to expire and 1 day to expire lists from what I understand these are just estimates based on the various registrars. I understand many people renew, so a lot
of homework is invloved prior to adding a snap to a name or using a script in attempts to get it :) I wish i could understand the EXACT drop dates better to help save my bandwidth and narrow things down better..

I have just uploaded a new version of Domain-Retriever (1.7)
which fixes all of the Alexa bugs.

You can download the latest version from the members
area of Domain-Retriever. If you need the link let
me know and I'll send it to you :)

All in under 6 hours!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to ALL!

I wonder what criteria is used in both exody and domain-retriever to determine _deletion_ of expired domain name (and subsequent registration availability).
Is it whois request to registry whois (whois.verisign-grs.net) reporting "No match for domain name"?
Is it availability check via some registrar(s) reporting actual availability regardless of whois output?
