Domain seller/auction site applications

Does anyone know what app is used by Afternic, Pool, Sedo, etc. for domain selling and auctions? Or do you think they're custom made (database, etc)?

Those are very big sites, so I'm guessing they hire programmers to make the scripts. Not sure what kind of database they'd be powered with. MSSQL, MySQL or oracle maybe.
