DomainerZone.com is for sale.

DomainerZone.com is for sale. I have started working on other projects and haven't been able to keep up with this site. I was hoping to add custom-made Domainer Zone tools and write more articles, but I couldn't find the time.

DomainerZone.com was registered in November, but wasn't officially online until January 1st, 2006. It featured a support forum that was intended to just for the PPC sites, but was extended into domains in general. This made it hard to promote the PPC sites on forums because it had a competiting forum. The forum was moved to DomainJunking.com.

DomainJunking.com was intended to be a forum for domainers who knew a little and had a few domains, but didn't have anything great. It's slogan was, "Helping you make a profit off of less-than-premium domains". I had a few hosting issues and recently my host went down. I moved to a new server, but I could not restore the forum. I think the MySQL versions have something to do with it (one used 4.0 and the other is 4.1).

The forum had about 115 members and 7,500 posts. There were a few mods installed including a few custom made ones. A big part of the forum was the vbPlaza and vbBux. In the store, there was the option to buy DomainerZone PPC sites. Buying advertising space on the forum was in the works, and after that, hosting and domains were going to be added. There was also a section for articles related to selling domains quickly, but I didn't have time to keep up with those, either. Now, there is just the domain.

Traffic:
DomainerZone.com
Unique Visitors Per Month: 300
Pageviews Per Month: 3,000 - 5,000
Alexa Ranking: 690,055
Google Pagerank: PR3

DomainJunking.com
Unique Visitors Per Month: 800
Pageviews Per Month: 100,000
Alexa Ranking: 133,709
Google Pagerank: PR4

About:
DomainerZone.com is a resource for domainers. It has articles that are listed using a basic CMS-type script that's custom made. Actually, everything is custom made. The articles are added to a database and then are good to go. They become searchable and the appear in the right section. It's also really easy to add any new section. The URLs use mod_rewrite to make them SEO friendly.

The pages are made with php includes (most of the time) to keep from having to update menus and links more than once. This way, you edit a menu, it appears on every page. I say most of the time because some parts of the site are written in Perl. The pages that ask questions about the site you want to create is all PHP except for the script that actually makes the site. The other pages that are Perl are the pages that send an email from DomainerZone to the user. This is basically the forgot my password/template code script. For some reason, my host would not let me send an email with an @DomainerZone.com from address in PHP.

The affiliates page is all database driven and features AJAX. It uses the Paypal IPN to verify all purchases. Each transaction is logged, including IP addresses. This was to ensure that the affiliate didn't refer themselves (I probably wouldn't have cared if they did, though). The current payout is 35% of whatever the final sale was. One thing I did was I check for the affiliate code on every page. This means that the affiliate to link to whatever page they want, not just the homepage. It made it easier to get clicks. There is also a stats page that shows how well an affiliate is doing.

PPC Content Sites:
The links are generated from OVerture, the first 16 matches. The articles are taken from free article sites based on the keywords. It is currently set up to take in a list of keywords. The first keyword is used to make the links and then it goes to get the articles. If there are more links than articles, it goes to the second keyword. It keeps going through the keyword list until every link has an article. Then the pages are made and zipped up.

There are over 100 designs to choose from. All of them are custom made. I have gotten offers on just the header images, but I refused. All designs are XHTML valid. The idea with these sites was to provide a quick way to add links. Each site has a link manager script that lets you decide when to add a link and when to remove it. You just enter the info and the link will appear on the site during that time only. I made more money by selling links than I did off PPC that I thought this would be an easier way to manage all the links without having to worry about when I added the link and when 30 days was up.

The ads are from Adsense, however, they are set up to easily be changed. I have used Clicksor and a bunch of other ad companies on them. The ads are kept seperate from each file, so there are only 4 files (one for each add section) to edit and then they will appear on all the pages. This means you could even use different ad companies on the same page.

Watch one be made
Final product: http://www.HealthDiets.info

Income:
DomainJunking.com was ad-free. It made nothing. DomainerZone.com sells a few sites a month, with the majority of the sales being late last month, early this month. There is an affiliate program and they have helped. A couple bucks has been made off of Adsense. The majority of the money I have made came from making PPC sites and selling those or links on them. There is the bulk site creator that I will talk about next. Mainly, I make sites and put them on forums and/or eBay.

Bulk Site Creator:
The problem with the set up now is that a lot of people have more than one domain they want a site for. I tried to make a bulk site creator that would let them enter the basic info once, and then just list the domains, keywords, and template number. It would then go through the list using the same general info for all the sites, but changing the domain-specific info.

It worked, except for one problem. Most sites take about 2 minutes to make. Browsers timeout after 300 seconds (5 minutes). It's very possible to have a site take 2.5 minutes. If you list two domains, you timeout before they finish. I use the script from the command line for my sites. I thought about offering it, but with the whole pirating thing, I figured once it gets out there, I will never make another sale again.

What's Included:
Included in the sale is:
  • DomainerZone.com Domain
  • DomainerZOne.com Website

  • DomainJunking.com Domain
  • DomainJunkin.com Domain

I got a $20 offer. That's the highest right now. I don't really have a price in mind. I don't really know how much it's worth.
