Hi,
I have been offered to develop or sell Domaining.tel
I see a few possible ideas, but I guess that the domain would be better used if it were in the hands of a player in the sector.
Any idea about how much I can sell this name ?
thanks in advance
david

wow - I would take the money and run on that 1 if you received a 5000 EUR Offer :S

Based on how .tel works, I see the extension as being limited, and would not appraise this name @ the level of 5000 EUR. The buyer could of rego'd the name for $400 just a little while ago.

Best of Luck and Success in All Your Endeavours!

I don't see any value really..what would someone do it with it? I really doubt you got a 5k offer but if you did, you'd be a fool not to take it.

Is this supposed to be funny? Please don't pollute this thread, this topic is an appraisal of Domaining.tel.

you need not doubt what I say. I'm a very bad domainer: never lie, never cheat, never use any tactic to sell more or pay less.
I do consider that the potential of this domain is much higher than €5k. This is a unique name. No matter if 99% of people do not like it. The appraisal should be on assessing how much the 1% left is willing to invest in such a name.

The buyer could of rego'd the name for $400 just a little while ago.
There have been no auction between contenders for the same name. You needed $400 + a lot of luck to get the best names.

I would say it's worth south of $1,000. I wouldn't even counter offer - I would immediately accept the 5k offer and count my lucky stars I found a sucker who wanted to buy this domain name.

In my honest opinion this domain is worth under reg fee. Why? Because this is not a valuable keyword, with no development possibilities in this extension. If you were developing a site you would need a miracle to gain any type of success. Not to mention Domaining.com is already an established site/brand in the small "domaining" community. Also no one outside of domainers or domain wannabees would ever visit such a site.

You might want to consider the chances of getting anywhere near 5,000 euros if you reject the offer.

Btw, I think Acro was guessing who the likely buyer is. In any case you may want to sell the domain before the potential buyer sees this thread.

Ah, the same lack of humor appreciation led Central Europe to war, in the past :D

On the subject of domaining.tel - did you really have a 5,000 euro offer? Since the .com is owned by Francois, unless he made that offer I doubt a sane person would make it.

The name isn't worth reg fee. Who are we kidding?

Just because you paid reg fee..does not mean that's what it is worth.

I hope you take the 5k offer, you won't see that again in your lifetime.

Without asking him, I know that François has no interest for this name. Because, as most anglo-saxon domainers, he's only following the market. 2 ou 3 years ago, when hundreds of .fr premiums were available at reg fee with no conditions (for us), he refused to grab names that are selling today a 4 or 5 figures. I did the same, relying on the opinions of supposed experts.
But I've understood later that the domaining market is not like the stock exchange, it can be wrong. You can easily beat the market, just using your mind.
I see parallels with the situation of .fr in the past and .tel now. There are constraints for the .tel, but can't this evolve? The established domainers do not show interest in this extension but who cares? I've been very suprised by the enthusiasm of many people, mostly not domainers, for the .tel extension. It's easy to think that they are stupid. But it's more difficult to understand why they believe in this extension and what they are going to do now.

If you don't care, you shouldn't ask for the appraisal.
I suppose that there are some domainers with a vision on Dnf? Or just people able to appraise the value of LL.com-LLLL.com according to measures totally disconnected from the reality?
No value in that name :)
Wrong answer. No value for you does not mean no value in the name. Besides the €5k offer, I've just received an offer from a domainer from Florida to "develop" the name and sale advertising spaces with subdomains. You can think that this person is stupid and that you are smarter than him/her, but this person gives value to the domain. So, in any case, the domain has some value. And a fine appraisal would not be what is everybody thinks he/she would pay, but how much can be taken from the most motivated person.

Take the money and run, this is a staggering offer for a very small niche market [ domaining] and especially for this weird and whacky extension.

the buyer is a crank or is genuinely insane. either way, sever his hand off at wrist. hope you nail the sale

Agree on this point.

But this is not a problem of visions.
.TEL is the most crap extension never born and this is a fact.

Anyway, accept the 5k offer.
Congrats for the sale in advance :D

domaining .net / .org / .info / .biz are all worth less than Eu5000 - why someone would offer 5k for the .tel is beyond me.
