So DropWizard use snapnames. :)

So the bonus you add at dropwizard isn't adding another registrar?

No, the bonus bid does not add another registrar. More attention and resources will be given to names with bonus bids. Obviously, it will give you a better chance of getting the name compared to the $120 names. Of course as you all know, luck is a very big factor too. So you could get a name that is worth good money for the standard fee of $120.

Yes, DW has partnered up with Snap Names. Therefore, you will see that some of our names are caught by Snap's registrars. This is only additional to the regular registrars that are shooting for us.

I don't understand how a non-registrar can partner with SnapNames other than using their API.

Most people would use SnapNames first and then use NameWinner, DW, Enom, GoDaddy, etc.

If someone has already placed a Snap, clearly it should go to that person.

So by paying more through the back-door, SnapNames can transfer the domain to you and you inturn to your customers?

confused....

confused....

Me too...

Maybe what happens is that if someone removes a snap from a name they order it for dropwizard and dropwizard pays snap a larger amount than they would have received normally? And if they don't get the name then dropwizard looses nothing?

I think what they do is put snapbacks on names that are entered into their system that dont have snapbacks on them, they probably run into quite a few like that.

Once you enter a name into their system they use any and all resources they have to get the name(s)...Its smart business.

Dropwiz has caught me some nice ones.

You got it Chad! :)

Then it's not partnership between DW and SnapNames.

snaps is the most powerful and sucessful imo

i still don't get it.

how many people would place orders at dropwizard first without checking snapnames?
