People are currently bidding $8000 for domainnames.com on Namewinner. Is this reasonable? Does not seem to much to me.

I do not understand why namewinner does not promote the names that get high bids on them.

name is currently owned by verisign, if it did drop; would you get to keep it?

It's not owned by Verisign but by somebody in the UK:-

Registrant:
DomainNames.com Ltd (QVLQAHCDJD)
The Teleport, Doxford International
Sunderland, Tyne and Wear SR3 3XD
GB

genki,

have a look at the site itself, http://www.domainnames.com

I guess verisign must have bought them out?

Still I want to know why NW is not promoting domains with high bids on them. How do you find out that good names are dropping?

NW used to have the soon to expire lists, not anymore though.. You'll have to find names from other list sites.

I'm a little confused...

If domainnames.com is about to drop, why is there still a site there?

Just wishful thinking on the part of the bidders.

The name has expired due to the registrant not paying the renewal fee, but it hasn't entered the purge cycle for deletion.

You would be suprised - really.
www.DotCom.com expired the same way :(

NetSol use to let anyone renew a domain - so sites with absent or dead webmasters had a renewal link that anyone could click and renew a domain on NetSol - they stoped that link a long time ago to forbid mercy renewals.

The site is a division of verisign, I doubt you'll ever see it drop.

DomainNames.com has been part of VeriSign for a couple of years now.
