This is another turnaround story similar to http://www.dnforum.com/showthread.php?p=497121. Picked up the site last fall when it had little traffic, redesigned it, optimized it, built a forum and now it is extremely popular. It is top of the search engines and there are extremely loyal users in the forums.
The design is not a template. I built it myself I just used it for both sites (well I guess it sort of is a template in that respect but these are the only two sites on the net that look like that). As a matter of fact I would consider a package deal for both.
