Dot SC Pricing - WTF happend

I think the title hits it good.

I only have a small handfull of.sc, nice ones but just a few thank goodness.
Having to renew one I see the current pricing gone up to 100$ give or take. Recently it was 39$ which was livable.

Does anyone know what happened and does anyone know the best price going right now ?

Some consider it the acronym for Source but it didnt hold strong for type in (too unknown). Whois .sc made the best go of it but they did offer such a service that they could have used any extension and did well.

I got shocked when I saw this HUGE increase. I said that's BS.

Though I will keep my domain it just I felt bad, being rob in front of my computer.

I have 4 or 5 I don't want to drop, but might. One of which has earned me 500 or so dollars the last year or two with minimal developement (very strong keyword)

As for your question of "Why?":
Good opportunity for an online presence at regfeee. Problem now is the regfee shot up to 100$ p/year. Hence my concern at potentially loosing a few dollars over a group of 5 domains.

I saw geek.sc being sold for $1 elsewhere... bad.
