Catherine Zeta-Jones and husband Michael Douglas have bought up several internet addresses for daughter, Carys Zeta-Douglas, to protect her name from “cyber-squatters” who could possibly use it to make profit, the BBC News has reported.

Douglas reportedly registered the internet addresses two days after Carys’ April 20 birth.

BBC News cited Paul Coulson of Simply.com, a domain name company, as saying that it is vitally important that celebrities register his or her name to protect it from “cyber-squatters”.

“When Tony Blair’s son Leo Blair was born, there was a sudden rush for LeoBlair.com on the basis that it could be a money spinner. Those who bought it could then sell it for money.”

Coulson also told the BBC News: “If you’re starting a singing or acting career or are in the public eye like Carys, you need to register your domain name so it can’t be used improperly.”
