There have always been rumours that Yun Ye (a.k.a. Ultsearch) is earning more than a million dollars (US$) a month. Now we have this:

Name Development’s revenues increased 260% from $3.5 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2003 to $12.5 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2004. For the corresponding periods, income from operations grew from $3.2 million to $12.6 million. For the nine months ended September 30, 2004, revenues were $15.5 million and income from operations was $14.9 million.

He was a lot smaller than I thought last year. :) Good to see his growth this year.

George,

Remember, he was headquartered in Hong Kong.

And, very few countries in the world are as efficient in tax collection as the U.S. IRS.
Therefore, he probably underestimited (or hidden) most of his profit.

Once, "full disclosure" is required for the SEC. Then, more info had to be truthfully
disclosed.

The Sarbanes-Oxleys Act comes into play. And, the new owners do not want to go
to jail. You can not plead ignorance anymore.

Also, Yun Ye is now answerable to the SEC. So, he must be honest in his disclosure.

With revenues like that, no wonder he doesn't bother answering requests to sell his domains.

what was the main factor behind that increase I wonder.

Does this mean an increase in domain name prices?

Or are current prices on domain names accurately reflect their potential earning power.

Looks liked they paid $1000 per name. Will the company earn about 10% a year on names like they bought?

Like Gregr said it was overture. As far as I know, ultsearch used to have an agreement with Findwhat and as we all know findwhat cpc's are signficantly lower than overture's.

Hong Kong is a small stall at a massive international Banjoree! The world is now doing business directly with centres like Guandong and Shanghai to name but a couple. Hong Kong's influence is waning.
