I remember reading somewhere about a particular company that goes
after people who register any domain that contains "easy" and "EZ".

Can a company own the exclusive use of the trademark words

"EASY" and "EZ" ?

I wouldn't think so. Those are just too generic and broad of examples (easy and EZ). They would have to go after EZ-Lock bags, all of Easy-E's posthumous royalties, etc. I believe they can trademark specific phrase or product containing the words Easy or EZ but not all of them. I used to own easypromotions.com and never heard anything from them.....

They can send you a C&D for Ginger.com even if the company is Sears..

I believe you can "go after" any name you want..

Is this not true?

So, there was a company that was fighting over the use of "easy".

I am glad to see that he lost.

Thank you, Dr. Berryhill.
