Thinking of creating a tools site for ebay users with photo hosting etc.

It's getting some traffic at the moment parked on Sedo, currently 50+ unique in the past 2 weeks with some revenue.

Any ideas on it's current value ?

I can't see there being a problem if the site is merely aiding users with enhancement tools?

In fact I've noticed several DN's incorporating the word ebay including:

coolebaytools.com
ebayfordummies.com
ebaysuctions.com
ebay-auctions-make-cash.com

Your very quick to judge !

- Thanks

Don't know... your name seems more "professional" and may lead people to your page thinking that's a "ebay company"...

Maybe they don't want that... lol =))

Ok well the best thing to do is obviously contact eBay and find out if they will agree to it. No point in working on a site to find out the worst :(

- Thanks

just because others have done it... well develop at your own risk. This could be a costly mistake. I think they could get more than just the domain... Your trading off their TM, smells like damages...

Noticed that EbayTools.com is also registered 2003, wonder how much traffic revenue that's accumulating?

Actually, the ebayfordummies.com name that was referenced in a post is the most likely to encounter problems. The "for dummies" people are pretty aggressive. EbayStudio.com would likely lose a UDRP case, but unless it is asite that garners a lot of attention Ebay probably wouldn't spend it's resources putting an end to it. So, the bigger it gets the more likely you are to get a letter in the mail. However, not too many people have paid damages for turning over a name or losing a dispute like this, which means that the practical risk of you having to hire an attorney and pay a lot of money is very very low....but not zero.

I agree with respect to EbayForDummies.com that's bang on the name! However, EbayStudio.com is merely a derivative of their name, just like the majority of other sites using the eBay name - and after-all, this is a site which will aid people in using Ebay. I'm certainly not out to infringe and I cannot visualise any security issues in developing a site of this nature. Surely, Ebay thrive on the amount of attention they receive from the network of sites that promote them globally - and that's why there are so many sites operational and using the Ebay name - AWARENESS IS GOOD, BETTER THAN NONE!

Anyway, It's got to be worth something :)

$x,xxx maybe?
