If a domain expires even if for a day or so ENOM will set the nameservers back to the default so that the traffic goes to their search page. If you forget to set this back you will lose traffic. Be wary.

**UPDATE**
Actually changes back when you renew....weird.

Don't really see a problem with their actions - expired it goes to them, renewed it goes back to you.

This actually happens because when a domain expires the registrar MUST pay for the renewal no matter if you renew the domain or not. They do have the option to delete the domain within 45 days after the expiration or they will have to eat the cost or make the registrant cough up the money for the renewal.
