"The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay is a waterside building alongside Marina Bay near the mouth of the Singapore River, purpose-built to be the centre for performing arts for the island nation of Singapore. It contains a 1,600 seat concert hall and a 2,000 seat theatre for the performing arts. The Library@esplanade is located on the third floor of the building. There are outdoor performing centres and retail and food space. There is an outdoor open space on the fourth floor of the building."
Perharps some of you may have heard of this before, it is the largest theatre in Singapore and one of the largest in Asia.
It seems that the name was 'dropped' some time back. The management for the Esplanade still holds on Esplanade.com & Esplanade.com.sg for their websites. Dot sg is the cctld for Singapore.
Alone, ESPLANADE is a generic word which means raised walkway area where almost all are alongside the sea, a tidal river or other large water body.
Anyone would like to appraise this particular name?
