This is for the sale of a web site which sells a supplier list for a sought after product. To protect the winning bidderââ¬â¢s investment, I donââ¬â¢t want to publicly name the product or the site but will do so via PM to anyone seriously interested in bidding. The site is a PR 4 and has an affiliate program. It is in the top 3 of itââ¬â¢s category at Clickbank.
The original ownerââ¬â¢s family started the business in 1998 and sold the product the supplier list pertains to. She took over the business and in January of last year she put it online. Sales exploded and she got overwhelmed and took down the site in January of this year and changed over from selling the products to selling her list of suppliers. I bought the site in April.
Here are the Clickbank stats for it. The original owner didnââ¬â¢t advertise and I advertised it the first week I got it but thatââ¬â¢s been it so these numbers are profit:
February = $1413
March = $1735
April = $1873
May = $1550
June = $1429
I am selling because a few weeks after I bought it I got involved in another business and havenââ¬â¢t done anything with this one. I want to put the money I make from this sale into my new business.
I spend about 2-3 hours a month on it. While I have done almost no advertising for it I think you should plan on doing some eventually. Also, I think that if you want a business that you actually are involved with day-to-day you could make a whole lot more money with this one by selling the products than the list. The woman who had it before did really well doing that. I considered it but didnââ¬â¢t have the time for it.
I only had the site for part of April on my hosting server so I donââ¬â¢t have an accurate stat count for that month, but here are the stats for the following months:
May = 30,679 visitors
June = 24,169 visitors
About 90% of the visitors are from bookmarks. Visitors have fallen off this month and I expect the site to get around 8-10,000 visitors this month. I will of course provide screen shots of the stats to those interested. Iââ¬â¢m not very good at figuring out the log files so if you are the winning bidder and you want to leave the site where it is for a few weeks in order to study them in detail thatââ¬â¢s fine.
I will be glad to talk to serious bidders via the phone about the site and will help the winning bidder for 2 weeks after the sale. I am looking for 1-2 times yearly revenue.
