I did an appraisal for a generic domain name with two different extensions, .info and .us, and the .info came out on top, valued at $70 compared to $30 for the .us So there appraisal model obviously dislikes .us compared to .info Are your opinions the same? If your a USA business and can't get your desired .com then wouldn't you get a more brandable .com as opposed to a .us? I really dislike .us for this reason. Please discuss more...

Eh, all depends on the domain.*uck.us would fetch more than *uck.info, IMO (fill in the blank). ;)

Personally, I like .info tlds but that's because I make a lot of informational sites, but I have had better parking clicks w/ .us domains as opposed to .info domaons.

Also, automated appraisals are about as reliable as our politicians (in the US) one will say a domain is worth $50,000 and the next one will say $10. Even human appraisals can do that because everyone would look at them from different perspectives (draggar.com would be worth a lot more to me than most people on this forum, for example).

I don't care what estibot thinks :)

well tell me what you think (which was the point of this thread)

I made the point of comparing the same domain name, to determine how they value one extension to another, bringing all other factors out of the question for a generic name.

I wouldn't just buy a .us because the .com was taken. Would only get the .us if it was relevant to the extension, had traffic or was a LLL/NNN.

The .info, I might choose if I thought I could provide relevant information for the subject of the domain, or it had traffic or was LLL/NNN.
