So I use estibot every once in a while to see if there are any new sales that have taken place for other extensions of my domains. I looked up one of my domains (ctr(dot)org) and it says that the domain was just sold on sedo on 5/18/2010. This sale never took place though.

Anyone have any idea how estibot gets its sales, because it is apparent that at least some of the sales being shown are not correct.

Same happened to me. They don't take account for sales falling through. I e-mailed them and they took care of it right away!

I will send them an email then, but the funny thing is, I've owned the domain since last year and have never sold it.

Hello,

Apparently, sedo has it listed on their recent sales feed. We download this feed hourly and insert sales to our DB.

If this becomes a problem we will remove their feed, however, this is the first case we've heard of sedo posting an invalid sale. Most of the time it was bido which we stopped pulling data from.

I have removed the domain from the DB, but since we appraise at much higher than the "sale" reported by sedo, it did not affect the price.

Thanks,
Luc

I've sold and purchased domains (non-private channels) that's made DNJournal.com x,xxx .coms, but never hit estibot. grain of salt.
