Unless you have a claim for any of the above names and therefore applied during Sunrise you would not be able to register any of the above names up to 04/07/2006 when the land Rush period will start.

Capitol.eu, as an example, has 4 applications running.

I have collected this list for over two month and all where available for pre-reg and in the whois.eu data. Few might have been caught but I am sure most are still available
e.g: solve

Why with the pessimism approach Chase ??
Any one else got such a list I will be happy to take a look.

His point is that you can't register any .eu name yet unless you have a claim.
You can only backorder them, getting in line w/ everyone else doing so.

Yes I know that but my bet is that if you backorder a domain that no company claimed than most chances is that you will get it. Once you back order a domain becomes unavailable to all others in the same registrar ( e.g godaddy ) takes only one backorder per domain so you don't have to line up with anyone.
What happens if it was backordered by two different registrars I have no idea how they will work this out so please advise.
What is sure is that I would rather backorder than wait for the 7 of april
I am sure I will get nothing if I wait for that date

This is not a simple backorder process. You must have a claim ( sunrise period ) with all legal documents and that process costs a bit more than an ordenary backorder.
Anyhow, there are plenty of registrars that offered "pre-registration" for a long time, I myself pre-registered the first .eu domains back in April 2002, but never had a trademark or any other "legal" ground to go through sunrise with them.
And, a lot of registrars offered those pre-registrations to more than one person, I think 10 orders per domain was the highest I had seen.

What happens if it was backordered by two different registrars I have no idea how they will work this out so please advise.

If they were only pre-registered it will be a question of who is the fastest out of the many, many registrars. Then it should be a questions of who pre-registered the domain first.

I did not mean to be negative, surely it was enough work to collect that list. All I wanted to point out was that even though some of them i.e. "solve" show as available it still does not mean that they actually are, but only that there was no legal claim through sunrise period for the particular domains.

availability is changin minute by minute. A lot of registrars are still showing 2 Letter names as available. All should be taken in Sunrise 2 normally.
A customer of mine submitted about 300 Companies as 2 letter names in the last days. Forget those registrar lists, the registrar has to check the whois and not only the internal database!
