Domain name at Network Solutions. Looks like it expires INTERNALLY in June 2004. However, the registry whois server is saying 2005. Auto-renew isn't for months yet.

I'm guessing:
a.) Network Solutions renewed at the registry, and forgot to update their own record
b.) The registry expiration date is in error, and come June, the domain name may well have something odd happen with it.

Anyone else have any impression on this type of situation?

Example Dates:
Registrar: NETWORK SOLUTIONS, INC.
Whois Server: whois.networksolutions.com
Status: ACTIVE
Updated Date: 10-jul-2002
Creation Date: 11-jun-1999
Expiration Date: 11-jun-2005

Internal:
Record expires on 11-Jun-2004.
Record created on 11-Jun-1999.
Database last updated on 13-Nov-2003 10:47:07 EST.

Thanks,

Just get them on the phone and have them look at it. They respond very quickly for me.

Thanks. The last time I called them on something like this, they gave me bogus information. Basically, the domain name at the time was DomainMall.com, and it showed as having expired 4-5 months prior. They said the record in the whois was wrong, and that it just hadn't "updated". I think within a few months, the name suddenly went into redemption period, even though the registry still said it had a couple of months to go.

It's disconcerting to say the least. I've gotten more authoritative and *frank* answers from eNom personel than Network Solutions or Dotster. I'll give them a buzz if the name passes the internal expire date. I'm pretty sure what their line would be otherwise.

It happened to a few of my domains (I only had a few left at NetSol even back then). I guess that's a discrepancy between Verisign's registry database and that of NetSol. I called them up a couple of times too but gave up with their crappy support. I then transferred the names away, taking advantage of the bonus (registry's expiry dates are all farther into the future) courtesy of their impotence. LOL! :D
