Noun flood lamp - light that is a source of artificial illumination having a broad beam; used in photography or indirect lighting.
Artificial illumination is now becoming more and more prevalent within the art display industry and they are looking very carefully in trying to show the true color of any art displayed. Art Galleries will spend 1000's if not 100's thousands for the best floodlamp lighting around. I use to work in the lighting industry, so I know what I'm talking about.
