Anybody want to guess what impact rising gas prices will have on consumer inflation?

Link to news story featuring myself about finding cheap gas prices. It features me in my real job not my internet ventures! But nonetheless a useful service. They filmed me talking for ten minutes only used 15 seconds but you know how that goes!:eek:k:

You sell wireless phones? I thought they were going to talk about a gas website you owned. Hey, do yourself a favor: Quit that dead-end job today (you're too good to slave for them).
Talk about not making ends meet...

its 65+ yearly min used to be 80+ years ago but went down some lately, you really think all that money you pay for your bill goes to the company. But I am a year or two away from full time in my own company. Its a useful service nonetheless. I use the features all the time.:shy:

You guys should take the time to understand that in few years no one will be able to afford most of the life we live in now.

Do you want to know why?

Imagine the next few years when petrol will cost $2 a litre, then $3 , then $5 and eventually $10 a litre.

Do you think it`s not going to happen?

Then spare 1 hour of your time in watching this free documentary that was created in 2004 and already warned people of WHAT was going to happen and IT`S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW : PEAK OIL.

Here`s the documentary:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3uvzcY2Xug

Then check wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peak_oil

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oil_price_increases_since_2003

In June, 2008, Alexei Miller, head of Russian energy giant Gazprom, warned that the price of oil is likely to hit $250 a barrel sometime in 2009. Miller said that while speculation had played a role in oil prices, "this influence was not decisive."[100] Bloomberg reported that as of mid-June, "At least 3,008 options contracts have been purchased giving holders the right to buy oil at $250 a barrel in December".[101]

On 26 June 2008, OPEC President Chakib Khelil said in an interview: "I forecast prices probably between $150-170 during this summer. That will perhaps ease towards the end of the year."[102]

Near-term peak oil proponent Matthew Simmons predicts a rise to $300 a barrel or higher by 2013 as sweet crude petroleum becomes more scarce and major producers begin failing to meet demand.[103]

You need to understand that time changes, and our society is on the edge to a big change.

Maybe we`ll have to do what our grandfathers and grandmothers were doing: using horses and start again producing our own veggies in the backyard.

An energy crisis is ahead of us and I think we are getting hit badly soon. Also, don`t forget that world population is now about 6.5 BILLIONS and we shou;ld be about 9 BILLIONS already by 2050. If we don`t have enough oil now, what is going to happen then?

I don't believe in the theory of peak oil. The US in fact has plenty of oil but is not allowed to access it because of environmental wackos who have complete control over one the two major political parties in my country, the Democrats. Every time someone says that were running out of oil somebody finds more untapped resources of oil. Oil shale or tar sands,ANWR,offshore drilling are just some of the new places we will find enough oil for this century and beyond.

But if what you say was true then Bush did not need to invade Iraq and the oil price would not have been up from $40 (2004) to $142.

1 Litre Petrol @ Rs.52/- in Hyderabad, India.

If our government increase the price of petrol in our country, they'll lose the election next year in Feb. 2009. that is for sure.

It's been a stable 1.34 p/litre in mainstream Ottawa, Canada. On the edge of town the same gas stations sell it 3-7 cents a litre cheaper. Cots me 135$ to fill my tank and I fill it twice a week to feed my 5.7L Hemi. (the pig). I get paid well to get where I'm going though, so it isnt hurting me too much. What hurts the most is every products price is going up. They say they need to cover the costs now that gas is on the rise.

TBH if I didnt have to haul heavy tools, I'd bike everywhere. I wonder if a harley w/trailer can handle my regular load of tools ? NM that, it's been raining a month now :/

Gas will go up, no matter what happens. We're not cutting back at the pumps, they're all making higher margins now so to let the price go down would be a real stupid move on their part. Even the little gas stations are racking it in these days.

If I'm broadsided at 40-60mph, I want a car or SUV that will take the impact without me or anyone in the car losing their life or becoming crippled. For that reason, I'm not in favor of downsizing to a smaller more economical car, I'd rather pay the high price for gas but reduce the amount of driving I do.
