The new weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com. This week a German country code domain, FlatRate.de, flattened the competition in all extensions with a big six-figure sale at Sedo. It was the biggest ccTLD sale reported so far in 2009 and the fifth biggest sale year-to-date in any extension. The next two names on our Top 20 chart were both sold for a second time with one doubling in price from the last time it changed hands and the other jumping 28%. The Big Board features 15 .com domains, a pair of ccTLDs, two .nets and a .org. You can get all of the details here: http://www.dnjournal.com/domainsales.htm

is it possible we have seen the bottom in our industry and a slow rise will continue throughout 2009?

Grats Biggedon!

I find it interesting that the .de did so well with English keywords (I don't think FlatRate is German, is it?)

I wonder if this is just a fluke or a beginning for popular ccTLDs?.

For many of the "new words", which came with new technologies, there is no German word for it and the english word has been adopted.

Pauschalpreis.de? (Translated though Babelfish for "Flat rate" - translates back to "blanket rate")
