Not to good at appriasals. Might not be the number one choice for the word business. Geschäft seems to be used more often

Hey I am german native speaker.

Geschäft is the real word, but before the IDN´s were introduced germans used ae instead of ä.

As for geschäft meaning the same as business: It kinda does mean something similar - dependant on the context it sometimes means the same sometimes something different.

As for appraisal I would say XXX, since on the long run no german will use the ae-version any more as soon as the idn format is supported by all browsers...
