Is there any tools that allow me to se when I recieve email (gmail) on my desktop. Preferable in the sys tray.

Gmail Notifier which you can download from Google
You can also simply use Outlook

Gmail notifier is the simpliest.
You can also use windows live desktop. I am not sure about the name but it is a part of live.com services. You can organize all hotmail (msn) and gmail etc together.
