Want a laugh, GO.INFO has a $110 bid on Afternic. Anyone that reads this forum knows there were NO 2 letter .INFOs issued. Regardless, Afternic indicates:


" GO.INFO
!!Perfect TLD!! Great for companies or businesses in the information industry. Any offers considered. Already had
enquiries. Grab it now!! Also great for search engines and directory services."


While I do not know what the alleged seller hopes to achieve, I wonder why Afternic did not do a basic whois or know the .INFO regs.

P.S I have 26 recently acquired one letter .INFO and .coms for sale cheap, honest. Each one comes with an original deed to a bridge in Brooklyn. Only cash accepted.

Due to the prohibition on two-letter .INFOs such as CD and PC, I thought there might be a market for YourCD.info and YourPC.info.

I do not know if a ban on 2 letter prefixes increases the value of YOUR prefaced domains. I am sure that you would like to hear from other forum members on that.

But for sure, the ban will increase the value of 3 letter words or acronyms --------> whenever .INFO takes off. Also, you did produce great one-page webs for the your domains. Thanks for the response and good luck.

GO.INFO bidding/listing lunacy continues – update - last bid $140. This mythical domain is still listed by Afternic for real! I think its value is far less than my guaranteed original deed to the Brooklyn Bridge for $10 (now on sale for $5, please be sure to state how many deeds you need.)

You know, one effective executive that would not be afraid to step on toes, could clean up Afternic in one hour. He would institute an effective auction policy, and filter domains in the same way Perfect does.

I pin the “real” value of Go.info at $100k to $300k as the only two letter .INFO IMHO. If I forget, please send cash only and a SASE for all bridge deed orders.

I actually bought 3 two-digit .info names last november due to a so-called software error at afilias. They took them from me 3 days later.

Doberry – Thanks for sharing your experience. You may have paid for the Brooklyn Bridge, but I would not say that you bought it. My understanding is that the RegistrY, Afilias from day one never permitted two-letter .INFO domain registrations nor did they ever show up in their master file or whois.

RegistraRs, on the other hand, from time to time are unable to reach the “file” at Afilias [or other registries]. A poorly filtered registraR could takes your money for a two letter registration, but a reading of the caveats on many RegistraRs’ sites is “Subject to approval/confirmation by the registry [eg. Afilias]”. The registrar’s registration was ultimately bounced by the well filtered registry.

In short, someone took your money and then refunded it for something that never existed.

Actually william, I was in the whois for 3 days. Over 20 laywers contacted me after the story broke in the washington post online, but none would work for free so I never went forward.

Thank you so much for sharing your story doberry I had not read the article and was unaware that any two-letters made it in. And what a story it is, wow. You informed all of us. It is almost as if you pulled the winning lottery ticket the prize was cancelled.

You mentioned that no lawyer would take your case for free. I wish you would have contacted me. I figure I can go to law school for less than $200,000 and then argue your case. Based on appraised value, my fee would be 75% of $300,000. You would be up and I would be a lawyer. Instead, I have to get to the coal mines in the morning and shovel through dropped domains. But, thanks again.
