I don't have a godaddy account but am trying to transfer a name from someone that does. Does GoDaddy have a lock feature that you can turn on and off on your names? Just checking, I'm being told that the name is locked at the current registrar so I don't want to misslead the guy I'm trying to help with this.

Thanks in advance.

The owner of the name has to initiate transfer.

Yes they do have a lock feature. Only the owner of the acount where the name is locked can unlock.

Godaddy's domain lock must be disabled prior to submitting a transfer.
