I logged on to Godaddy at 10:00am and started to reserve a .mobi name...godaddy said it was available and then I tried to reg it...godaddy kicked me out and then I could not log in to their .mobi sect.

I looks like Godaddy has come up lame with this. Has anyone had any luck with a registrar that is on the ball this morning? Let me know. Thanks.

Moniker...just regged 8 with no problems at all...they're already showing up in the whois database. I was impressed since this is the first time that i've used moniker

Well godaddy screwed me. The name that was available ..now is not. I am pissed.

they're also a few bucks cheaper than godaddy...i don't understand the problem...i used godaddy during the pre-reg and had no problems at all...I'm afraid that alot of people just got screwed out of some good names

Godaddy is now showing that microsoft .mobi is available. What a lame site.

Went to moniker as well...

Also first time on Moniker and got 10 of 12. Very quick and smooth.
Go Daddy problems, only managed to get 1 there.

Someone need to write to GoDaddy and tell them just how much they screwed up this morning.

seems like godaddy also has minimum 2 yrs. reg, is that the same everywhere for .mobi?

Well, I have to say that my GoDaddy experience went just fine. I regged the following names at about 10:10 am today. I did get some failure notices but all are in my account now.

I had that "Godaddy" problem this morning. Everything was a go at 8 PM this morning my time (MST). The two names I wanted showed available, got to the cart, and (*&%*#(!!!. I had a few words for Bob Parsons for sure.

Ultimately I had to run to work, but was able to stop off at a hotel with internet access and got at least one reg'd.

Anyways, one HAS to realize these are just domains. Most of the ones being reg'd will never get typed in. I like this domain a lot but seriously LongDrawnOutDomainthatHasNothingToDoWithQuickTransactions.mobi are really worthless... So in all honestly it's probably a good thing we didn't get as many as we wanted. Unless of course Sex.mobi was available then I would have been just a little more than pissed at Godaddy.

:ok: I forbid anyone from ever questioning izopod's commitment.

One must keep all options on the table.

How ironic is that though. Reging a "mobile" domain from a fixed location. Something is not right with that but it does show you how much in "infancy" this "mobile internet is".
