UPDATE: Indian .in domains can now be registered at Godaddy.

I noticed at the Indian registry that Godaddy and Wild West Domains recently have been added to the accredited registrar list. So I sent Godaddy a note about it.

Here is the response I received from Godaddy Support:
"[FONT=arial, sans serif]Thank you for contacting Online Support in regards to registering a .IN domain name. We will be offering this TLD for registration, however we are unable to provide you with the exact day in which these domains can be registered with our company. We apologize for any inconvenience regarding this issue."

good news, I made this recommendation to Godaddy when they joined DNF, but maybe they had it in the works for a while. hopefully they offer an introductory low transfer special, and I'll move all my .in and .co.in over there.

They'd better not outsource their support to Satyam :D

I saw that Godaddy now allows .in registrations. Basic price is $14.99/year.
I got a report that someone successfully used a $10 off a $50 purchase code with some LLL.in and it worked. With the right code, Godaddy just jumped to least expensive .in registrar.

Oh Wow... it is working. They are registering .in, but its expenisve for many of .in owners who are resellers of certain programs like me.

Atleast to begin with, they could have run in 25% less then mkt price.

You apparently can use coupon codes to help lower the price. Godaddy occasionally offers a 25% off the purchase of $100 or more coupon. That would make .in less than mitsu.

So, buying 7 domains will do the trick i.e.
14.99 * 7 = 104.93
less 25%
= 78.69

Cost of 1 domain will be 11.24

This is for all 1st, 2nd and 3rd level .in cctld domains cost in godaddy (post 25% coupon)

No, if i compare it with my reseller package

For 3rd level domains and .co.in, godaddy price is more then double!!
.net.in / .org.in / .firm.in / .gen.in / .ind.in

Godaddy - 14.99

My Reseller - 6.99 for new and 5.99 for renewals

So for new .IN , it might be good but for others, NOPE!
