Google says that this short domain name would help the web users in the country as they would be able to type it in fast. G.cn now redirects to Google.cn. G.cn is believed to be a million level Chinese RMB Yuan exchange.

Wrong, Wrong, All Wrong... You should be saying IDNs are going to be huge. Chinese people don't want full length URLs. They want single characters so natives in the countries can access the site easily.
