Got an email today that they have increased the number of channels to 500 from 200. Good news for people with lots of websites or webpages. Maybe next it will go unlimited?

Do you have a link on how channels work and how they can affect earnings?

It will not affect your earning. The channel is use for reporting tools only so you know which is which making money and gaining traffic.

Hope this help.

Glad to hear it :) I'm only on about 15 channels, but was seriously considering mass mini-site development at one point and 200 isn't all that much when you look at it.

They just track which sites/adverts are getting clicks and revenue. So it's a tool to help you track/plan, but thing else. :)

It is also a good hit counter, you can see which pages or sites are getting the most visitors by the ad impressions they get. Also you see which pages are making the most revenue for you. Adsense without channels would be scary.

Ok, I obviously need to learn more about channels and how to use them.

I've been using adsense for a while, started using analytics not too long ago. Last month, I noticed over $50 in adsense revenue that I had no idea of the sources - several sites running. One site is basically THE site tracked in analytics. The others are listed as well but ADSENSE CONTENT does not appear on their analytics pages. That is why I started this thread:

http://www.dnforum.com/f160/how-set-up-google-analytics-thread-375671.html

Looking at the analytics structure, there are three scripts that MUST BE ADDED IN THE ORDER THEY APPEAR for analytics to track them like the primary page.

wish yahoo would do the same.

You can go further than that - put each separate ad on each site on a different channel (Site1_sidebar, Site1_topbanner etc) and you can see how each ad location is doing, if one is too low then kill it to up your %'s.

I'm in the same boat - maybe 25 channels, but I think I have 5-10 that I no longer use (sites on domains that I dropped etc..). It is nice though to see what sites are getting traffic and which sites are getting clicks - it's a good way to learn what works and what doesn't work.

HI
