Hi All:

I've managed to get my site WWW.GOOGLESEARCH.WS ranked #1 in Google (and AOL search) for the search term "googlesearch." AdSense searches from this site are currently yielding a very high Effective CPM (I wish I could post the numbers here but it's against the Google AdSense TOS.) How much do you think it's worth? Hint: The Effective CPM is 6-7 times higher than what many consider a good Effective CPM with Google AdSense.

And while I'm on the subject, my site WWW.GOOGLED.WS is ranked #1 in Google and AOL Search for the search term "googled." What the value of this domain?

I wondered about that. Wouldn't they pull the the Adsense first? I was thinking if they had a problem they wouldn't have even approved it. Must be automated?

yes, it is automated.

thats also why its #1. I dont have the time now, but I soubt therer are other live sites with those exact keywords (other than Google's own), so, thats why its ranked first.

Thats my take on it, I could be wrong.

www.googlesearch.ws is growing steadily and is currently receiving an average of 40 unique computer host visits (uniques) per day.

www.googled.ws is also growing steadily but it has less traffic @ an average of 15 uniqur hits per day.

Thanks.

Yes, I was quite sure that someone would mention the trademark thing.

Well, I didn't invest my time and other resources in these domains without doing some research first. Have you heard of the "usage trumps trademark?" Basically, since I am using googled as a verb, it's not a trademark violation. If used as a noun then it would be a trademark issue; googlesearch is also being used as a verb:

http://listserv.linguistlist.org/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0302D&L=ads-l&P=R2823

Furthermore, I have contacted the good people @ Google AdSense about these domains on more than one occassion. They know about the domains and are clearly OK with the way I am using them. You see, I am not spamming anyone like the owners of the domain googlesearch_dot_com are doing so I am not p*ssing anyone off. I am using them in partnership with Google which I am sure makes a huge difference .

The very good people @ Google (heh) are careful, though. Because of the nature of these domains, they get visited by Google's bots 2-3 times a day even though they are only PR 3 sites (and the bot visits are further evidence that Google is very much aware of these sites.)

Thanks for your comments.

An interesting note: I must admit that I have become quite fond of www.googlesearch.ws and may hang onto it for the following reason: my server logs pick up the search terms used when people use the site to search Google in this manner. This not only provides some truly excellent market research but also lots of entertainment. For example, a certain gentleman recently conducted the following searches repeatedly:

dating for drinkers
drunken dating
want to date heavy drinkers
want drunk women
dating for drunks
websites for heavy drinkers

AllTheWeb.com used to have a page where anyone could view the 10 most recent search terms. There are other sites that offer this info but AllTheWeb's data was always uncensored which was cool. They pulled that page a while ago (I guess because they realized how valuable the information is) and I really miss it! Or maybe they pulled it due to potential privacy issues (once in a while one would see some very disturbing searches)? Who knows. But I really don't need them anymore. :-D

You are using the word Google, that is a trademark. No matter what you think, it is a trademark and it will cause problems.

From a legal perspective it's not that simple, as I explained in an earlier post above. Thanks for your comments! :-D

In my opinion ... assuming you do not have any trademark issues through your detailed checking with Google. At 40 uniques per day i would appraise this site at Mid $XX until traffic increases. Good luck!
