I received the following inquiry:

Hello,

I have a friend who is very interested in your domain: xxxxxxxx.com
Can you please let me know if it is available for sale, and also how much
you would roughly be looking for.

Cheers

Jenny

The email used to send the message was:
[email protected]

If this looks familiar to you, please let me know...there is something I am investigating with this inquiry. Thanks for your help.

Looks exactly like all the spam mails I receive for my domains. My standard answer is to make an offer if they are really interested and do so from a business email address (almost always anonymous gmail accounts are used).

Thanks,
I get many offers and know exactly what it looks like, but there is a reason I am asking about this particular one...with "jenny s" with this e-mail address:

[email protected]

There is a reason I am asking if anyone else has ever received this or a similar message from this specific person/email address.

Let me guess, the next step they'll ask you for an appraisal though a service that "they trust"?

No...Not an appraisal scam....something different.

It is Shwartz !?

I wonder who it could be...potentially a Jen on this forum? :O

Guessing it is someone using DRT. I get these the whole time.

Just a variation on the millions of spam / lowball offers sent out each day.

Good one...:)

I believe it is a registrar trying to get you to renew a name you want to drop...and already let expire...and making it like someone wants to buy it, but then going away the second you renew it at the pending renewal rate...so yes a scam...but still researching.

Love the poem Acro. Good stuff :)

Thanks :) Every "Jenny" is forever associated with that song :D
