Interested in thoughts on the value of

hebergement . us

Hebergement means hosting or accomodation in French.

Among the approximately 40M results for hebergement on Google, the majority are for web hosting (hebergement web) or travel accomodations.

Thanks!

IMO it doesn't fit the TLD... unless you target French-speaking visitors to the US for example.
Hebergement means both (Internet) hosting or accomodation, but I first think webhosting. I would have prefered a more global TLD like .com, .org or .info and there are plenty of French generics available under .us ;) so I don't think it's worth more than low $$$ without development. Good luck.

Thanks, SDSinc for that appraisal and input.

That is exactly the purpose - to target french speaking people (from Canada, France, Belgium, Morocco, Switzerland, etc) to hosting OR accomodation services within the USA.

Part of the strategy is to leverage the increased buying power (due to the weak US dollar) of foreign investors to.. get their hebergement.. hosting.. in the US!

And monetize it all using all those lucrative Commission Junction web hosting affiliate programs that pay $60-120 per signup...

So, the strategy is to target french speaking web hosting seekers..

:) Thanks!
Rob

or .. perhaps a hosting company to buy out the name to offer french web hosting services within the US.

or... a global travel company (Priceline, Expedia, Hilton, Travelocity, Kayak, etc) that again.. wishes to target the 100M odd french speaking people that may seek accomodations in the USA ;)
