I have been out of the domain name business for a while and decided (after selling my online business) to have a look and take the temp of domain name selling as of April 2025. During the last 20 years I probably sold 20 domain names in total, from $1500 to $50,000. About half .com and half gTLDs. I hoped that gTLDs would have gained more traction by now as ex+++ dot coms became more scarce, but looking over stats and this forum in general, it doesn't look like it - just the opposite maybe...? Are gTLDs dead to investors? Are they dead to businesses / site owners?
Thanks to all for your insights.

You're not wrong—.com still dominates. gTLDs have niche uses but low resale value for most.
