Hi all,

can anybody help me out with this issue please?

I have just registered a domain name in two parts.

The first part is a well known global brand name, which is trademarked. For example purposes only let's say it is similar to the Easy corporation's "easy" brand, i.e. Easyjet or EasyInternet.

The second part of the domain name is a generic IT term along the lines of ISP, PC, Internet, Broadband or similar.

So it could be easypc.com or easyisp.com or similar. Although I must stress it is not easy related at all.

My question is, the company in question already run a service which is linked to this domain name and they have an affiliate scheme. Would I be OK to put up a site on the domain that features a page promoting their products/services and thus generates me revenue from the affiliate scheme? I'd put a disclaimer on the site somewhere stating that I am an affiliate and that will hopefully stop me being accused of trying to pass myself off as the brand. Or would it?

Your help is appreciated.

Sounds like textbook trademark dilution.
